GRAPHICS: HANDMADE PACKAGE DESIGN

Graphic design is the creation of visual compositions to solve problems and communicate ideas through typography, imagery, color and form. Though they often overlap, each type of graphic design requires specific sets of skills and design techniques. Many designers specialize in a single type; others focus on a set of related, similar types.

Examples of Graphic Design works include:

Poster, Handbill, Magazine design, Book cover design, Invite, Complimentary card, Package design, Calendar design, Shopping bag etc.

Our focus on today's post will be on Package Design.

What is Package Design? 

It is the connection of form, materials, imagery, colors, regulatory info etc., with ancillary design elements that make a product ready for marketing. Your product packaging design creates huge impact on audience. The package design may vary depending upon the product. 

Some of the qualities of a good package are;

- it must be attractive/marketable

- it should be able to serve as protection for the product.

Note:

The Perfume Package in this post was  handmade by one of my Art and Design students. 

Materials used are:

Velvet fabric, Strawboard, Binding Sheet, Adhesive, Cardboard and Acrylic paint.
