In art, the term painting describes both the act and the result of the action.
However, painting can be done using wet or dry media.
Examples of wet media include the following;
Oil paint, Acrylic Paint/Poster colour, Water colour etc.
While dry media are;
Colour pencil, Oil and Chalk pastel, Wax crayon, Pen, Marker etc.
In painting, the focus could be on; Still life, Life or Nature. Any of these can be achieved through either observational or the use of reference(s).
The images attached to this write-up are paintings of fruits done by my KS4 Art and Design students, using reference.
